Edward Williams, President of Ed Williams Inc Auctioneers, grew up on a wheat ranch outside of Davenport in Eastern Washington. He became interested in the auction business while working for the local livestock auction. He did this while in high school, working after school, on weekends and during summer vacations.
After graduating from high school Ed Williams served three years in the U. S. Army where he was stationed in France for the majority of his military time. He was involved with the Algerian Crises, The Belgium Congo Crises , the Berlin Wall Crises and the Cuban Crises while on active duty.
Upon discharge from the U.S. Army Ed Williams enrolled in college at CBC in Pasco , WA he then transferred to the University of Idaho where he earned a bachelor of science degree, majoring in Agricultural Economics and Accounting with minors in Animal Science and Speech. During summer break from college, he attended the Feller College of Auctioneering in Kankakee, Illinois.
After graduation, and a short stint with Chevron Chemical as a Ortho Fertilizer and Chemical Salesman, Ed moved to the Yakima Valley in l967 and started his lifelong career as a professional auctioneer, which has been his passion for the past 34 years.
He has conducted over l360 auctions to date during his auction career. Ed Williams Inc. Auctioneers conducts farm auctions, retirement auctions, household auctions, estate auctions, antique auction and real estate auctions. Twice a year he sponsors an Open Consignment Machinery and Vehicle auction which have been very popular and successful sales.
His goal at every auction that he conducts is to conduct the highest standards in business practices while at the same time providing many years of selling experience to provide you, the seller, the selling experience that is necessary to conduct a successful auction sale for you, our clients.
Ed has spent many years doing volunteer work; serving as President of the Washington Auctioneers Association, a 4-H leader for many years , board member of the Washington Wool Growers Association, Ram Sale Chairman for the Washington Wool Growers, Sec-Tres and Sales Chairman for the Washington Suffolk Breeders Association, Sheep superintendent for the Yakima Valley Jr. Fair, Board Member of the Jr. Livestock Association - Toppenish, Washington, Sec-Tres for the Yakima Valley Sheep Producers Association. He has worked towards a masters degree and continued education at Washington State University, Eastern Washington University, Yakima Valley Jr. College and has attended numerous seminars to keep himself abreast current programs pertaining to the auction industry.
Ed, along with his lovely wife Janelle between the two of them each have 3 children and a total of 7 young grandchildren which keeps them busy in their spare time. Several hobbies that Ed and Janelle are engaged in are raising Black Angus Replacement Heifers, Gardening, raising gladiolas and roses along with back country horseback riding.
